Our patients can monitor their INR / PT / Protime in our office:

To help our patients on Coumadin (warfarin) safely, accurately, and rapidly manage their INR / Protime we have purchased and are using a "point of care" device in our office.

This are done by making an appointment with the medical assistant and are available daily and even last minute when you are concerned.
Some highlights about this service:

Uses a single drop of blood from a finger stick (just like a glucose meter for diabetics) instead of an entire vial of blood from your arm.

Results are obtained in less than 60 seconds in our office while you wait.

Results are immediately reviewed by your physician.

Changes in your medication dosage (if any) are made right then with you and your doctor.

Covered by almost all insurances.

Looking for a way to have labs drawn for important blood work but don't have insurance. Well here is a link to a local company that has significantly reduced fees for 'cash' paying customer. We are not affiliated with this company and cannot take responsibility for any of the services or claims - however we have had good reports from our patients. It is called Healthwaves and here is the website - http://www.healthwaves.com/Main.html - Please check it out for locations, times and costs - note only certain labs are available and if you want the results reviewed by your doctor you have to bring the results to us as this company will not send to any one but the individual who had their blood drawn.
